The Department of Psychology at Florida State University focuses on research excellence across the field, and is organized into five doctoral programs that reflect this emphasis:
Clinical Psychology
The study of determinants of pathological behavior in children and adults with emphasis on biological, cognitive and environmental factors
Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience
The study of human information processing and its basis in brain function
Developmental Psychology
The study of physical, cognitive and social change throughout the life span
Neuroscience
The study of the biological bases of behavior
Social Psychology
The study of how we think about, influence, and relate to one another
Applied Behavior Analysis
The department also offers a Master's Degree in Psychology with a Specialty in Applied Behavior Analysis at the Panama City Campus. This is the only (terminal) Master's degree program in our department; students in our doctoral programs often obtain their Master's degree along the way to their PhD.
