Programs

The Department of Psychology at Florida State University focuses on research excellence across the field, and is organized into five doctoral programs that reflect this emphasis:

Clinical Psychology

The study of determinants of pathological behavior in children and adults with emphasis on biological, cognitive and environmental factors

Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience

The study of how humans process complex information received by the senses

Developmental Psychology

The study of physical, cognitive and social change throughout the life span

Neuroscience

The study of the biological bases of behavior

Social Psychology

The study of how we think about, influence, and relate to one another

Applied Behavior Analysis

The department also offers a Master's Degree in Psychology with a Specialty in Applied Behavior Analysis at the Panama City Campus. This is the only (terminal) Master's degree program in our department; students in our doctoral programs often obtain their Master's degree along the way to their PhD.
