Services for the Community

The Florida State University Department of Psychology provides mental health services through three clinics: The Psychology Clinic is a mental health service, training, and research center dedicated to providing empirically supported treatment and assessment services to Tallahassee and surrounding communities. The Anxiety and Behavioral Health Clinic's mission involves the prevention and amelioration of anxiety-related pathology. The Children's Learning Clinic provides compassionate, evidence-based evaluation and treatment for children and families in the context of a research study.
Affiliated Research Centers
The department's renowned faculty participate with affiliated centers and institutes on campus. The Florida Center of Reading Research investigates all aspects of reading and reading-related skills across the lifespan. The Pepper Institute focuses on the social aspects of aging and their implications for public policy. The Learning Systems Institute develops innovative solutions that bridge theory and practice in education. The MRI Facility is a research-dedicated space connecting neuroscience, psychology, medicine and engineering. The department is also home to the Institute for Successful Longevity which conducts research into how to live longer, stay active and be fully engaged in life.
