Welcome to the Department of Psychology Advising Office! The Advising Office supports undergraduate students as they establish and realize their personal, academic, and career goals at FSU. Academic Advisors help students navigate and understand university policies and procedures, monitor academic progress and complete degree requirements, make plans to reach their goals, get connected to university resources, and get involved in experiential learning opportunities to build skills and experience.
Meet with an Advisor
Our office offers in-person advising and virtual advising options for students. For information on scheduling an appointment or attending drop-in advising, please see the details below:
Scheduled Appointments
You may schedule an appointment to meet with an advisor in-person or virtually outside of drop-in times by following these directions:
- Log onto myFSU (my.fsu.edu) using your FSU loging information.
- Click on the Campus Connect Icon under “myFSU Links” on the left side of the myFSU Homepage.
- On the right-hand side of the Campus Connect homepage, click on “Get Advising: Selected Sites Only” under the FSU Emblem.
- If you are a Psychology Major: select “Meet with my Assigned Advisor” in the service category, then “Academic Advising” for the reason for the appointment. Click “next” to continue.
- If you are not a Psychology Major: select “Meet with Other Advisor” in the service category, then select the reason for your visit. Click “next” to continue. **Note: use this any time you wish to schedule an appointment with an advisor outside of your major.
- Select “Psychology Advising, A209PDB” as the appointment location.
- If you have a preference for an advisor, please select that advisor’s name and proceed. If you do not have a preference, just click “next” to proceed.
- You will now see what days appointments are available, if its in the morning or the afternoon, and how many appointments are available. Select the time you want to come in for an appointment and click “next” to continue. **Note: this system will automatically take your class schedule into account when showing you available appointment slots.
- The next screen will show you your appointment details (time, location, date, additional details and who your appointment is with).
- Click “Confirm Appointment” and you are all done!
- You will receive a confirmation email to your FSU email address, which will include the Zoom link for your appointment. Please use this link to sign into your appointment during your scheduled date and time.
Drop-in Advising (Drop/add week – August 26-30, 2024)
The Psychology Advising Office will hold drop-in advising on Thursday and Friday afternoons from 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. These may be attended in-person or on Zoom. To attend on Zoom, please use the following link during these specified times: https://fsu.zoom.us/j/94670592523

Find a Course
How To Find Liberal Studies Courses
- Sign into your MyFSU.
- On the top right, look for the Student Central Icon. This looks like a little person reading a book. Click this icon.
- From here, there should be a page with multiple icons. Click the icon which says “My Classes”.
- On the left side of the screen is a menu with multiple options. You are looking for one which says “Add Classes”.
- 5. When you click the “Add Classes” you then click “search” and from there should be on the course search page.
- On the course search page, make sure that you are in the correct term. For example, if you are looking for courses for Fall 2020, your term should say “Fall 2020”.
- When you scroll on this search screen, also make sure that your course career and campus are “Undergraduate” and “Tallahassee” respectively.
- Finally, towards the bottom are many different course attributes. These attributes can be used together. For example, if you are looking for an ethics course which is also a “Y” diversity course, you can look for courses which satisfy these two requirements. Click “search” for the list of courses.
How to Find a Psychology Elective

- At the top of the search page is a section which says “Academic Organization”. In this section, type in “ASPSY” and this will populate all of the available courses in psychology for the selected term.
