Are you passionate about understanding and improving mental health outcomes for children?
The Harmon Youth (Harmony) Lab is seeking motivated research assistants to join our team.
The Harmony Lab seeks to gain a deeper understanding of how children experience and manage their emotions. Using a developmental psychopathology approach, we explore the various factors that contribute to emotion dysregulation. Our research uses a range of methods, including multi-informant rating scales, clinical interviews, computer-based tasks, and psychophysiological measures, to assess cognitive, behavioral, and emotional functioning in children. Our work is transdiagnostic, covering a range of childhood disorders such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other emotional and behavioral problems. As part of our ongoing studies, the Harmony Lab also offer clinical services to children and families. By integrating clinical practice with research, we aim to discover more effective ways to improve treatment for youth. Our current project focuses on identifying mechanisms associated with the development and maintenance of irritability and emotional disorders in children. Our lab is part of FSU’s Center for Translational Behavioral Sciences.
