Lab Description
Research in the Harmon Youth (Harmony) Lab seeks to gain a deeper understanding of how children experience and manage their emotions. Using a developmental psychopathology approach, researchers explore the various factors that contribute to emotion dysregulation. The lab's research uses a range of methods, including multi-informant rating scales, clinical interviews, computer-based tasks, and psychophysiological measures to assess cognitive, behavioral, and emotional functioning in children. The work is transdiagnostic, covering a range of childhood disorders such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other emotional and behavioral problems. As part of ongoing studies, the Harmony Lab also offers clinical services to children and families. By integrating clinical practice with research, they aim to discover more effective ways to improve treatment for youth. The lab is part of FSU’s Center for Translational Behavioral Sciences.
